If I were to hand a Bible to someone with no church or religious background and they were to start reading it, there are likely to be a number of difficult concepts that they will run into that will create questions in their mind. This I know from experience and I come from a background of being in church since I was eight years old.

I love God’s Word! I am so fascinated and amazed by its content. Working now on my PhD in Bible Exposition has only increased my hunger and desire to explore it more. However, I know that at face value, it can lead to all sorts of misconceptions and misunderstanding. I guess that is part of the reason why I do this . . . to hopefully help bring understanding. Someone told me recently that referring to a doctorate as a “terminal degree” is actually misleading, particularly in biblical studies. I would agree – the more I study, there is much that I learn that is helpful to me and informative; however, I also find much that I do not know relative to God and His Word!
Having worked in the corporate world for decades, circumstances prompted me to take early retirement. Continuing my biblical training and following a stint assisting with a small business, COVID took its toll and I once again found myself looking for work. God led me–wonder of wonders–to Northshore Christian Academy where I began working as a 7th Grade Bible teacher in September 2023. While it is challenging and exhausting, it is also much more meaningful than working for “big business.”
I am married to Tony, a man with a heart as big as the ocean. We have enjoyed life together since 1989! We live 35 miles north of Seattle, Washington, in a town called Marysville. Our favorite pasttime is taking our motor home to state parks, particularly those with easy access to water – Fort Flagler, Cape Disappointment, . . . and having spontaneous picnics at Kayak Point County Park.
My heart is to share the Bible to equip believers with knowledge of the Creator of the universe who desires relationship at an intimate level with those who will engage with Him. In that, Abba-God has gifted me as a communicator, both written and verbal, and I want to put those skills to use to accomplish this task.

If you choose to “follow” me, thank you for joining me on this journey, as I share thoughts about God’s Word and my life along the way. I will endeavor to share truth in a manner that is responsible and faithful to what the Bible displays of the character of our Father.
